My Novels

My novels are listed below. Currently I have three series of books, some of which are not complete. The unpublished titles are listed with anticipated date of publication. Please feel free to check them out at Amazon, or select the TAB for each title at the top of the page for more information.

Look for the following titles at Amazon.com Kindle Store

The Fighter Queen saga

The following novels deal with an intergalactic war several hundred years in the future. But it isn’t standard “scifi” fare — these stories are about real people. No monsters, no gadgets, just real humans caught up in a cosmic tragedy. Lots of battle action, lots of drama.

A Vow to Sophia
The Fighter Queen

Star Marine!

The Fighter King
The Sword of Sophia

United Federation Marshal series
The U.F. Marshal series takes place in the same universe as the Fighter Queen saga, only a few hundred years earlier. You may recognize some familiar names and places as you read through the series.

Asteroid Outpost
Sirian Summer
Rebel Guns of Alpha Centauri
Bounty Hunter at Binary Flats

Victoria Cross: United Federation Attorney

Gunfight on the Alpha Centauri Express

Manhunt on Tau Ceti 4

Assassin on Centauri B

Revolt on Alpha 2

Victoria Cross: Colonial Defense Attorney

Ambush at Galaxy Gulch

Starport series
The Starport novels take place in a totally different universe. Riddled by war and political intrigue, these novels are often inspired by today’s headlines. As you read them, you should feel right at home.

Starport
Starport 2: Guerrilla Girl
Starport 3: Famine Planet
Starport 4: Prisoners of Eroak

Starport 5: Occupy Eroak!

  1. I enjoyed your article “The Trouble With Science Fiction” and agree. Passed it on to my friends, fans & followers on facebook and twitter so they can read it.

I’ve added you to my reading wish list. Still working on entering the art world so I can earn money to rebuild my life so that I can someday afford things like books again. Star Marine! sounds interesting. 🙂

Thank you, Randall. I took a gander at your website and I’d say you should be earning real soon. You have real talent.

Star Marine! is the fourth book in a series. I do think you’ll like it, but while you’re waiting, you can start with the other three. Vow to Sophia is out now, and Fighter Queen will be out next week.

John, I have read The Fighter King and am currently in A Vow to Sophia. What sequence of your five novels do you recommend reading?

    • bornnovelist

Thanks, Jim, for reading the series. I hope you are enjoying it.

Chronologically, the sequence is: Fighter King, Sword of Sophia, Vow to Sophia, Star Marine, Fighter Queen.
Personally, I recommend reading them in the order of publication: Fighter King, Vow to Sophia, Fighter Queen. Star Marine, Sword of Sophia. I think they would be more enjoyable in that order.

I hope you’ll let me know how you like the series, and feel free to write a review at the site where you purchased them.

Mr. Bowers will STAR MARINES or REBEL GUNS go to print

    • bornnovelist

There are no immediate plans to print them. E-books are much cheaper to produce and last longer than print copies, but if you would like to see printed versions we might be able to arrange for Print on Demand if there is enough interest.

Mr. Lippert, updating my reply to your 2012 question about print copies, Rebel Guns and the entire Nick Walker series is now available in paperback. The same is true of the Starport series. I expect the Fighter Queen saga to be in print by Christmas of 2021, except possibly Star Marine, which is a monster and might take a little longer. But it definitely will be available within the next few weeks.

      Thank you.

    John —
You said that you would give my fist book, Martian Underground a quick read after the editing comments from Al Kalar have been included. This has been done, where should I send it?

  5. Casey Elliott

I’m just wondering when the Fighter Queen saga will availble again. I went back to reread it and – poof – its gone.
    Awww mannn!

    • bornnovelist

Thanks for your query, Casey. The Fighter Queen saga has been taken down temporarily in order to update some of the storylines. I hope to have it back online early in 2020.

    • John Bowers

Casey, in case you don’t already know, the Fighter Queen saga is back up on Amazon and available for download. Thank you for your interest.

      • Casey Elliott

Yeah, John. I noticed the return of the Fighter Queen – and bought it and downloaded it before that so and so author could make it disappear again.
        Ha!
Thanks for the email. Good books!
