Sirian Summer

When Nick Walker arrives on Sirius 1 to take over the United Federation Marshal’s office at Kline Corners, his first priority is to find out who murdered the man he is replacing, Ron Gates. Kline Corners is like no place he has ever seen—it looks like an Ancient West cow town, complete with sheriff and saloon.

But things are not what they seem. Nick soon discovers an epidemic of missing girls, talk of racial oppression, and outright human slavery. If he can get to the bottom of those issues, he may learn who murdered Ron Gates.

In the course of his investigation, Nick meets several colorful people:

Nathan Green, 17, a local boy who can’t wait to escape Kline Corners and see the galaxy. In spite of his youth, he may prove to be Nick’s greatest ally.

Suzanne Norgaard, 34, who owns the Vega, Kline Corner’s only watering hole. Born on Vega, fabled for its stunning women, Suzanne is the sexiest woman Nick has ever seen…and the smartest.

Willard Kline, 62, the cattle baron who built Kline Corners and owns everything for a hundred miles around. If Ron Gates found something that might threaten his empire, would Kline resort to murder?

Sheriff Roy Blake, 60, an aging lawman employed by Willard Kline. Nearing retirement, would Blake be willing to arrest the man who pays his salary?

Judy Norris, 22, the town prostitute. She was sleeping with Ron Gates and just about every cowboy in the country. Could she have information that might lead Nick to the killer?

Alice Taylor, 45, the town doctor. Her husband was murdered by Kline Ranch foreman Gerald Graves—yet Graves was never charged. The good doctor is leading the charge to find the missing girls, and thinks Graves may be involved.

Willis Kline, 31, the heir to Kline Ranch. Willis thinks he was born into royalty, and with his explosive temper is capable of just about anything. Did he have a reason to murder Ron Gates? And why is he protecting Gerald Graves?

Sirian Summer is a fast-paced tale of Old West action on the Final Frontier, racially motivated and politically charged. You’ve never read anything like it.
